Training Contracts

Each trainee usually spends six months in four out of our five different Departments: Commercial Litigation, Commercial Property, Construction, Property Finance and Corporate. Our trainees are likely to deal with a wide variety of other areas as well, for example Employment, Professional Negligence, and Liquor Licensing matters. The exact nature of work and the areas covered will of course vary depending on circumstances.

Trainees are encouraged to take responsibility for their own work under supervision of a partner, and are given regular appraisals. They are expected to deal directly with clients.

Particular importance is placed on continuing legal education. As well as making use of external Seminars, the firm holds monthly lunch-time Seminars in the office. These Seminars (which are recognised by the Law Society for Continuing Education time) cover a variety of topics of use to a solicitor, not all of them on strictly legal topics.

Because of our size we are able to involve all members of the firm in the development and marketing of the practice. We encourage our trainees to stay on with us when their training contract finishes if we have a suitable vacancy in a Department which interests them.

If you wish to apply for a Training Contract with us, please save the following link: Training Application Form. You will need Microsoft WORD to read and print the application form.
