We are vastly experienced in this specialised area, having been active in the sector for over fifteen years.
Every year we act on over 100 new restaurant acquisitions. We have negotiated documentation in most of the retail and leisure schemes in England and Wales and on all of the Central London Estates. We have acted on multiple deals in many of the major schemes.
The landlords that our clients deal with are often highly sophisticated and look to utilise documentation which is landlord-friendly. Our expertise in this area enables our clients to establish a fairer equilibrium in contractual negotiations as well as making proper provision for all of their practical requirements.
Our involvement on transactions ordinarily extends beyond that of mere property lawyers to effective project managers, liaising between clients and their architects to ensure that the lead-up to any restaurant opening proceeds as smoothly as possible.
The work we do includes:-
- negotiation of agreements for lease and lease documentation;
- business and multiple unit acquisitions;
- sales and leasebacks;
- disposals by way of assignments and underlettings; and
- day-to-day property management work (to include licences to alter/assign/underlet, deeds of variation, and providing summaries of key leasehold information for portfolio management purposes).
