Glovers’ Success in the Privy Council

Glovers acted for the Petitioners, GFN S.A and Artag Meridian Ltd, in a Petition for Special Leave to appeal the decision of the Court of Appeal of the Cayman Islands in favour of the Respondents, (the Liquidators of Bancredit Cayman Ltd) to the Privy Council.  The Privy Council granted the Petition for Special Leave.

The appeal will consider whether the Court of Appeal of the Cayman Islands had jurisdiction to make a security of costs order in relation to interlocutory proceedings.  The appeal will be of particular interest during the current financial crisis and also as the law in this area is the same in the Cayman Islands as it is in England and Wales.
