Philip Eyre
Philip Eyre is a dual-qualified quantity surveyor and solicitor who has acted as a construction adjudicator since 2000. His career in the construction industry began in 1984 working on projects such as Dun & Bradstreet new headquarters, High Wycombe and various business parks for Arlington Securities.
Philip became a professional associate of the RICS in 1988 and studied part-time at University of Westminster for his law degree obtaining an upper second-class degree in 1994. He qualified as a solicitor specialising in construction law in 1998 after studying full-time at the Inns of Court School of Law in London.
His training as adjudicator includes passing the competence assessment examination of the Academy of Construction Adjudicators in 1996 and the RICS adjudicator training course in 2000. He undertook a further 2 day training course in 2005 to pass the Umbrella Group adjudicator’s course.
He has been appointed more than 80 times and has produced more than 50 decisions. None of the decisions produced so far have been successfully challenged for want of jurisdiction in subsequent court proceedings. A 2004 decision awarding £9,393,815.50 was considered in court proceedings and enforced by His Honour Judge Gilliland in the Salford District Registry (MJ Gleeson Group plc v Devonshire Green Holding Limited).
